Martin's United Foundation was established in 2020, we are based in Essex, United Kingdom.

Why we started the charity

We started our charity in the corona virus pandemic of 2020. speaking with local members of the, Tendring, Essex community we realised their was a lot of people homeless or in financial hardship, many people was in need of support in the form of resources they use to survive and advocate advice information & support with Housing, Healthcare, Rehabilitation, Education, Employment. for this reason we was prompted to help the people and we decided the best way to do this was with the power of the people.

How we started the charity

We started the charity mission by going onto Facebook and informing the community of Tendring, Essex that their is a lot of homeless people sleeping rough in our town and seafront and a lot of people in financial hardship. We asked the members of the community to unite in order to help people in our community by donating their unwanted clothes, bedding, sleeping bags, tents, back packs, shoes, bathroom essentials. each time we spoke to a person in need of resources we would put a request out on Facebook to our surprise many people answered to our request and before we knew it we was helping many people in the community. which lead to us building a clothes bank and going out three times a week for walk with resources such as sleeping bags, clothes provisions and a survival backpack in case we came across homeless people that need them. Once we started helping so many people we decided to register with Charity commission in order to show transparency in what we are doing and to gain more support from local business and organisations in order to uplift humanity. because we strongly believe "Unity is the key to uplift humanity" 

after gaining great love and support of the people and local business and organisations in the Tendring, Essex community the charity has grown from strength to strength.

Where we hope to go

We have a vision to grow the charity and help as many people as possible in Tendring, Essex and all around the United Kingdom with our services.

Impact

Our "Clothes bank" has benefited many individuals, family's and local organisations with our mobile collection and delivery of clothes resources. 

Our Social media pages have been able to inform people of the help and support available here in Tendring, Essex and United kingdom.

Our mobile patrol & distribution of sleeping bags and survival resources has helped many homeless people in the form of prevention of health deuteriation along with our advocate advice information to help them get the support they need from local authorities & organisations.

Digital inclusion project has allowed us to give people internet & telephone access.

Public Recognition & Achievements

1st November 2022

24th November 2022 

We was contacted by https://www.gbnews.com/ and told that they have seen and love what we are doing to help people in the pandemic in the Tendring, Essex community of Clacton On Sea. 

We was invited to sit a live interview on the Farage At Large Show and have a chat with Nigel Farage and talk about the work we have been doing and how the cost of living has impacted our community. the interview went well and we received a warm welcome and praise by audience for the work we do.
